Lots of Hair, Don't Care ;) - An all-around cool bride and her wedding hair story:

Meet Rosalina :)

Rosalina is simply a cool chick. When I initially met her and her now husband Doug, I could tell they were down to earth, and just cool people. My affinity grew for Rosalina during the consultation when I started getting to know more about her, her life, how her and Doug met, and of course her wedding visions.

The thing about Rosalina (can I say I also just love her name? .. yes, I can ;) ) ..the thing about Rosalina is that she has soooooooooo much hair. Her hair is very long and thick and she wanted a style that would not be in her way,  stay contained and staying put the whole night, and still beautiful and in her style. When she showed me her gold headpiece (similar to one that I was seeking for my own wedding coming up!) I knew it was meant to be :) It complimented her dark hair so well and was a perfect accoutrement to her chosen hairstyle!

Fast forward to the wedding day. She and her bridal party were all so sweet and chill, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting them ready. Rosalina had gifted them each two smaller gold hairpieces to work into each hairstyle. I loved that idea, and had fun figuring where to put each lady's hair pieces. When thinking of gifts for your bridesmaids, it is fun to be creative with giving unique gifts for each lady, but gifting them one thing that is similar across the board is always a nice touch to pull everyone's look together, and she nailed it.

For Rosalina's hairstyle, well even with all of her long luxurious hair, it of course stayed put the entire night, looking fresh and glorious. Something that Rosalina noticed is that despite all of the hair she has, with it being up and having to use lots of pins, it never pulled or hurt throughout the entire night. Using special techniques to help hold the hair, especially when there is a lot of it, is key, and I always make sure to do just that. After all, nobody wants a headache anytime especially on their wedding day!

It was a beautiful wedding, and her bridesmaids all wore dresses from Show me Your Mumu, which I love!! These relaxed boho style dresses look great on anyone, so brides, if you are trying to decide on dresses for your party, check them out!! They are awesome and come in all different styles to suit everyone's various needs!

So overall, when deciding on a hairstyle that you will be comfortable in all night and still look amazing, taking into consideration the type of hair you have as well as your personality is key. Will you be hot and uncomfortable wearing it down? Are you a dancing queen and will be tossing your hair about all night with the long luscious locks getting in your way, or would you, on the contrary, like to have some hair fly-age to keep it interesting and compliment your inner lioness? Are you more of a tame personality, prim and proper, and plan to socialize with your guests all night, so in turn wearing it down may be perfect, or are you more of a classic style and feel better with it in a nice and smooth updo?

Those are just a few of the questions you may ask yourself, but in the end go with what is in your gut :) and try not to stress, because with whatever you choose, it's going to be beautiful :)

Presenting Mrs. Robinson!!!  - Bridal Makeup and Hair Consultations and Changing our Minds ;)

Lindsey Robinson came to me as a referral from her awesome and talented sister, photographer Jennifer Maxwell of A Creative Pear Photography in Atlanta, and I was so thankful :) I absolutely love working with Jenn and if she is sending her sister to me to do her hair and makeup for her wedding, I know it is a compliment considering she photographs so many makeup and hair artist's work on a regular basis :) Thank you Jenn!! You're great!!

Lindsey's hairstyle, a more classic style with some added texture, she made the final decision on right before her hair service on her wedding day and she loved it!! It was so perfect for her :) Jenn decided to go for a slightly more tousled look, very fitting for her fun and energetic personality!

So from the very beginning I always get details about you as the bride, the style of your wedding, colors being used in the wedding, and any concerns you have about getting your hair and makeup done. I spend time answering any questions as they come about. I always try to understand exactly what you are wanting for your wedding day look. Photos help of course, so sending those over to me are preferred in order to help you in the best and most efficient way possible. Pinterest is great for this!!

If you don't really know where to begin, and you are the type of person who doesn't wear makeup regularly, then that is perfectly normal, and truthfully a lot of my brides are like you in that way! So don't worry! I also love to help guide you too based on your personality, style of your wedding, and any other details you can provide :)

Lindsey, this lovely bride, was super sweet to work with, and having Jenn and Lindsey's mom at the consultation too was just a fun time all around! During the consultation we tried a hairstyle that Lindsey showed me a photo of, and it, as well as her makeup choice, was beautiful on her :)

Now let's talk about changing our minds. We are human beings, we change our minds.. And that is ok!! Although sometimes, brides, you may think you want a certain hairstyle, you may end up changing your mind after the consultation, and you should not feel bad at all about it :) The consultation is a great way to weed out the makeup and hairstyles that you "think" you may want, and then move on to what you really want after having tried out and lived in that hair or makeup style for the rest of the day after your consultation :)

During my initial check-in after the consultation, Lindsey was wanting to make a few changes to the makeup and hair styles in order to feel more like herself, and brides, once again, this is totally good with me! I want you to have opinions about your makeup and hairstyles! I want you to step away from the consultation saying, wow I look amazing, however maybe what I thought I wanted is not exactly what I actually want. Or, maybe we will nail the look you are going for, and you were on the right track all along with your thoughts about your wedding day look. Either way, I want to help you get to the makeup and hair look in the most efficient way possible, and sometimes that includes making revisions after the consultation.

So don't worry, I will always work with you no matter how many changes you need to make :) After all, this is kind of an important day in your life ;)

Check Lindsey out in her final look, with her final hairstyle being literally decided on right before I did her hair on her wedding day. And all turned out fabulous!! She was so happy and felt completely herself in her look, which is the most important part of it all :)

So brides, all in all, don't be afraid to speak up at any point during the process! We want you to get exactly what you are going for in order for you to feel insanely beautiful on your special day :)
